SOPHIE by SOPHIE + BECKMANS
A design collaboration between jewellery and art. 14 fashion students from Beckmans School of Design created unique patterns inspired by SOPHIE by SOPHIE’s AW17 New Deco Collection. An esteemed jury, Daniel Björk, Bea Åkerlund, Cia Jansson, Cay Bond and Sophie Gyllenhammar Mattsson, chose the top 3 winners. They are Adam Swärd, Emma Wåhlin och Felicia Åström whose patterns now are printed on the iconic Enamel bangle and silk scarfs.
Finally we have reached the release of our exciting collaboration
with Beckmans School of Design that we have planned for so many years. There is
nothing more inspiring than working with young creators. To let them create a
unique pattern that comes to life and gets printed on our classic Enamel bangle
and silk scarfes feels like the perfect synergy.
Designer Sophie Gyllenhammar Mattsson.

was one of the first courses that the new students at the Fashion Programme had
last autumn. It's both exciting and challenging to begin your studies with a project
that ends with the patterns coming to life on manufactured products. The
students have done research based on Sophie Gyllenhammar's brief for AW17 New
Deco, worked with different sketch techniques for drawing and pattern design as
well as experimented with composition and colour. Their patterns have
subsequently been applied to enamel bracelets and silk scarves.
