Pomodoro

The SS18 collection is all about flowy shapes, robust geometry and vibrant contrasts. It is a personal tribute to the 60s, family heirlooms and Italian memories. The collection strives for a balance between the pulsating and colourful exterior and a graceful and delicate interior.

During Sophie’s upbringing on Sweden’s west coast, her grandmother gave her a unique bracelet made by the italian artist Gio Pomodoro. During the 1960s, Gio developed several series of sculptures, which explored a range of abstract shapes, usually with smooth undulating surfaces. In his later career, Pomodoro regularly received public commissions and produced a number of large outdoor structures.

"I love the interesting and graceful shapes of Gio Pomodoro’s metal sculptures, they make the metal feel soft and vivid. This avant garde period had so many fantastic artists and the geometric shapes and contrasts make this period very dynamic". Sophie
