The World Childhood Foundation was founded in 1999 by Her Royal Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden. All children have a right to a childhood, to safety, happiness, playfulness, and curiosity in life. All children have the right to grow up and develop socially and intellectually. World Childhood Foundation works to prevent abuse and exploitation of children.

The goal of Childhood is that no child should be exposed to a violent or damaging environment, but instead have the opportunity to grow up with memories of a safe and loving childhood.

From the very beginning Sophie Gyllenhammar Mattsson knew that she wanted to initiate a charity collaboration and so she contacted the World Childhood Foundation. A collaboration that will celebrate a 10 year anniversary in 2017.

The 10 different colors in the Childhood Bracelet became Sophie’s source of inspiration when she designed the piece. Each stone is a different gemstone and every bead represents one of the many important articles in the UN Convention of the rights of the child.

– The Childhood Bracelet is a part of our Classic Collection and one of our most popular styles. Gladly each year the sales of Childhood Bracelet is increasing at our retailers and in our international web shop. I feel extremely happy and proud to be able to contribute to the World Childhood Foundation’s important work around the world, says Sophie.

In 2014 the Childhood Bracelet was a part of the Swedish exhibition Det Glittrar – kungliga smycken i Livrustkammaren. An exhibition where fashion jewellery from the 14h century from the royal families Vasa, Hessen, Holstein-Gottorp and Bernadotte were exhibited.

The bracelet is a favourite jewellery piece among the female members of the Swedish royal family, with Crown Princess Victoria and Queen Silvia as fans in particular.

For each sold Childhood Bracelet 10% is donated to the World Childhood Foundation.
